A group of DFW-area business women convened at the Grapevine Convention Center on March 8th for the 2018 SCORE Women’s Business Forum, presented by the Fort Worth Chapter of SCORE.  Attendees were inspired by the stories of amazing women such as Hillary Strasner, who built and recently sold a successful business, and Judy Hoberman, author, Tedx speaker, and President of Selling in a S.K.I.R.T.

“The SCORE Women’s Business Forum grew out of our recognition that the ranks of women seeking business assistance and mentorship are growing and need to be supported more fully,” said Myron Pullum, Chairman of SCORE’s Fort Worth Chapter.

The theme of the forum was “Boost Your Business,” and the presentations and workshops each supported that theme with topics such as effective networking, social selling on LinkedIn and writing a book to increase business.  Linda Williams, Economic Development Specialist for the Small Business Administration, conducted an informative workshop on Women Businesses in Government Contracting and Kristin Robertson, president of Brio Leadership, talked about creating a culture where employees are excited to go to work on Monday.  There was something for everyone.

Of course, when a group of women get together, new relationships are forged.  “The networking that took place was as important as the presentations,” said forum coordinator and SCORE Mentor, Suzan Dick.  “It was wonderful to see so any new connections being made.”

The 2018 SCORE Women’s Business Forum was one of the many educational opportunities that will take place this year.  Be sure to check out the Calendar of Local Events on this site.
